ABOUT SLACKS FARM BUTCHERS

A Long-Standing Family-Run Business

The Slacks Farm story began in 1976, when an 18-year-old Steve Hayman opened his first butcher’s shop. He named it after his family home — a working farm in Edgworth, Lancashire — and set out with a clear mission: to provide top-quality produce with friendly, reliable service.

In 2010, Steve’s son Mark joined the business, learning the trade at his father’s side. Together, they proudly served the community for years from their stall at Accrington Market, until the markets closure marked the end of an era.

In 2017, they opened a new shop in Chorley town centre, which Mark now runs. Since then, the business has grown beyond the shopfront — with a thriving online presence and local delivery service, making it easier than ever for customers to enjoy Slacks Farm quality from the comfort of their homes.

Nearly five decades on, Slacks Farm remains a family-run business dedicated to providing carefully sourced, high-quality ingredients to the local community.
